The Procedure of IVF treatment in Istanbul

Ø  The first step is consultation with the doctor. You will share your history or any type of illness with the doctor. After this consultation doctors will take the next step for the treatment.

Ø  The second step is to take the test and examination, which will take 3 to 4 days.

Ø  The third step is ovary stimulation. The process of getting ready to retrieve the eggs begins at this stage. Ovulation growth should occur at a rate of 1.7 mm per day under stimulation. Injections and medications containing follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone ( LH)are used to stimulate the body.  It takes 10 to 16 days to stimulate the ovaries.

Ø  The Fourth Step is Egg retrieval. The best time for egg retrieval is 35 to 36 hours after the follicles have matured (a "mature" follicle is often one that is between 15 and 20 mm in diameter). Under anesthesia, the egg retrieval operation lasts between 10 and 20 minutes. After being identified and cleaned, the gathered eggs will be dropped in tiny drops onto plastic culture dishes. About 4 hours after egg retrieval, sperm and eggs are combined in a lab (in-vitro), or the sperm is injected into the eggs one at a time. Before one or more of the embryos are implanted into the uterus via the embryo transfer technique, they are cultivated in the IVF facility for an additional 2–5 days. Over the course of 5 to 6 days, the embryo divides and grows its cell population.

Ø  Generally, embryo transfers take place on days 2, 3, or 5 of embryo development. It may be carried out on day 4 or day 6 depending on particular cycle needs. The actual embryo transfer takes between 15 and 30 minutes and is a straightforward process. The patient will be allowed about an hour to lie down and relax after the transfer.

Ø  The first pregnancy test can be performed 14 days after egg retrieval. Due to the test result, the first ultrasound can be performed 20 days after the treatment.
